The 2025 Rain Gutter Regatta will take place on June 5, 2025 at Jarrettown United Methodist Church during our last Pack Meeting of the 2024-2025 program year.
The Rain Gutter Regatta is a traditional Scouting event in which small, Scout-built boats are raced for fun. We make it more fun by having Scouts build their boats from recycled/repurposed objects.
- Boats are to be made by Scouts using recycled/repurposed objects. While regatta boat kits can be purchased online, boats built from these kits will not be considered for prizes.
- Many Dens will build their boats as a den activity — ask your Scout’s Den Leader!
- Boats should be no wider than a rain gutter (about 3-1/4″).
- Scouts will use “wind power” to power their boats.
- This is about creativity and fun, NOT SPEED!
- While we will race, fun prizes will be awarded for the MOST CREATIVE and MOST UNUSUAL boats we see!
