Tent (Parents sleep in the same tent as Scouts)
Sleeping Bag + Pillow, with Sleeping Pad
Clothing for at least two days:
(You do not have to pack your Scout’s uniform for Camp Garrison)
- 2 pairs of jeans, pants and/or shorts
- 3 sets of underwear
- 2 shirts (one should be the Pack t-shirt)
- 4 pairs socks – more if rain is expected!
- Shoes – two pairs (preferably pair of sneakers & pair of hiking boots)
- Night clothes or pajamas
- Sweatshirt or sweater
- Jacket or windbreaker (heavier coat if cold weather is expected)
- Gloves & beanie (if cold weather is expected)
- Poncho or raincoat
- Bug spray
- Hat and/or sunglasses
- Refillable water bottle
- Sunblock
Toiletries:
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
- Small soap
- Comb/brush/pick
- Small pack of tissues
- Towel & washcloth
Other items:
- Bag for dirty and/or wet laundry (a plastic bag works well)
- Whistle & small trash bag (for hiking)
- Small first aid kit
- Eyeglasses (if needed)
- Flashlight (with good, tested batteries)
- Camp chair
- Cub Scout Handbook (with name on it)
Fishing rod and fishing equipment
- Adults assisting Scouts to fish do not need a Pennsylvania fishing license. Adults planning on fishing will need a Pennsylvania fishing license.
Pocket Knife (Bear Den and older)
OTHER STUFF YOUR CUB SCOUT MIGHT LIKE TO HAVE ALONG:
- Books to read while falling asleep
- Stuffed animal or “sleeping assistant”
- Frisbee or ball
- Chess/checkers/small board games/playing cards
CUB SCOUTS SHOULD NOT BRING:
- Electronic games
- Electronic devices of any sort – TV, radio, cell phones
- Knives of any sort (except a pocketknife for Bear Den and older — parent/guardian may keep knife for the child to use for Pack ‘whittling’ activity)
- Weapons of any kind, whether toy or real
- Candy, gum or snacks (all food will be provided by the Pack)
- Fireworks
- Matches or lighters
- Toys (Lego, Hot Wheels, etc.)
MEDICINES: Parent will be responsible for bringing, storing and dispensing any medications. There is a refrigerator available in case any medication must be refrigerated.
